The Daily Nebraskan, the independent student newspaper of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, featured Rachel in a very nice article about twirling for the Huskers.
Stepper-ettes were featured in the Ralston Recorder on August 31, 2011. Trophies, medals, certificates, ribbons, international television coverage, national championships. And now, a bit of a target on their backs. For a little more than two years, as they've done for nearly four decades, the Stepperettes — the area's premier baton twirling and pom pon team — have been piling up hardware and accolades at an amazing clip.read more
Rachel Foehlinger competed in the Miss Lincoln/Miss Star City pageant held on Saturday, August 27th at Irving Middle School in Lincoln. This is a preliminary pageant within the Miss America Pageant Organization. Rachel electrified the audience with her fast paced twirling routine to "Man of La Mancha. She also competed in swimwear, onstage question, evening wear, and a 15 minute interview with the judges held earlier in the day. When it was time to crown the two winners, we were all a little nervous. There were some very talented young ladies up on the stage. In the end Rachel did win the Miss Lincoln Title and will go on to compete at the Miss Nebraska Pageant in June!
Another VERY special awards was presented as well. Bob Foehlinger was awarded "Mr. Congeniality"!!!! Just a few hours before the pageant was to begin, the pageant director found herself with no music or microphone system. After one phone call, Bob packed up his audio system and sped down to Lincoln. He truly saved the show!
Congratulations to Stepper-ette senior team member Courtney Running on her recent marriage to Andrew Lux. The happy couple just returned from their honeymoon in Belize!
This past week at Notre Dame has been an exciting one for the Stepper-ettes! We were able to win 9 events and have also qualified to represent the United States at the World competition to be held in Switzerland in 2012! The following teams were named National Champions:
Juvenile Large Beg. Dance Twirl and Twirl Team
Senior Lg. Beg. Twirl Team
Junior Twirling Corps
Large Twirling Corps Champions & Grand Corps Champions!
All of our teams and individuals did a fantastic job and everyone's hard work certainly paid off! Congratulations to all of the girls (and boy) for a job well done!
Stepper-ettes Rachel Foehlinger and Aleah Peters did an amazing job at the Miss Nebraska Pageant held in North Platte June 8-11th. Rachel won the preliminary talent award on Wednesday and went on to finish 3rd runner-up in the Miss pageant. Her twirling and dance performance to "Proud Mary" electrified the crowed!
Aleah competed in the Teen portion of the pageant. She performed a dance twirl routine to "Don't Stop me Now" and placed first runner-up!
Both Rachel and Aleah were incredible and represented the Stepper-ettes so well! Congratulations ladies!
